    Cevap: NO- you aren't missing any instructions! That black box is the self-contained battery powered clock. It should be all IN ONE PIECE. Sounds like somebody smashed it? Contact the seller- they will replace the clock mechanism.

The only downside is that the woodgrains tend towards looking a bit "busy" to the eye. However, the watch-face is visible from the sides, which some customers prefer.
