He begins to see visions of Fanny, who he believes is calling out to him from beyond the grave. In the end, Michael dies alone and unfulfilled, having never found his true purpose in life.Michael is a poignant and tragic novel that explores themes of love, ambition, and the search for meaning in life. Benson's writing is elegant and evocative, painting a vivid picture of the world of early 20th century England.
