The Salomon Women's Quest is the perfect boot for those looking for a winter boot that can handle tough conditions. The shaft is higher than most women's hiking boots, fully covering your ankle and a bit higher for added support, making this a great choice for cold weather. The forefoot is wide and normal heel width, which is hard to find in women's outdoor boots. The boot has a heavy-duty, thick protective sole with very rugged treads, making this boot ideal for trekking through the rough terrain. It is waterproof with Gore-Tex, providing a membrane to help retain heat, but it is not insulated. It is recommended to upsize 1/2 size to accommodate thicker winter socks.
