- Freeze Dried Boneless Uncooked Chicken Breasts 25 Year Shelf Life 12 Breasts. Freeze-Dried Chicken Has a 25+ Year Shelf Life! You'll be ready for anything with a food supply that will last and be there when you need it most. Perfect for emergencies, just soak in water for at least 20 minutes, cook thoroughly, then enjoy. 12 uncooked, boneless chicken breasts per can. Every can is sealed in an oxygen/moisture free environment. Store in a cool, dry place. Packaged in #10 size can (gallon can). Manufactured, procured and packaged in USA. Ingredients: Freeze-Dried Chicken Breasts, Uncooked. No preservatives, colorings, or additives. Helpful Hint: Store a can opener with your chicken, so you have it when you need it. Note: This meat is uncooked; do not consume raw.Directions: Just soak in warm or hot tap water for 20 minutes (until the meat feels tender throughout) and cook. (The longer they soak in water the more tender they get.) Once opened, they will last: Up to 1 year in a zipper locking bag with refrigeration once opened, but not rehydrated. Up to 60 days in a zipper locking bag without refrigeration once opened, but not rehydrated. Up to 5 days in the refrigerator once they're rehydrated. When will your freeze-dried food expire? The manufacturer guarantees the minimum shelf life of 25 years from when the food was made. To find the manufactured date, look at the label on the can. There should be a code similar to this one below:8034 b2 19All you need to look at is the first set of numbers (8034) - that is the date code in Julian format. So in the example above, it was made on the 34th day of 2018, which is February 3. 25 years from this date gives you the minimum of how long it will last. Note: Since it is a long-term storage, the shelf life will depend on the conditions under which you store the food.
