Mix with lukewarm water (98-102ºF) at a concentration of 20-25% (similar texture of a shaken yogurt or smoothie). Average intake is around 7-10 ml per 100 g of body weight and feeding bout. The number of feeding bouts per day depends on the stage of development of the chick. Crop should be full but not overstuffed. Confirm that the crop is empty in the morning. Leftover formula must be discarded after each feeding bout. It is advisable to use a first-age hand feeding formula for younger birds At weaning, switch progressively to the PSITTACUS Omega daily diet for one year. No vitamin or mineral supplements should be given to parrots whose staple food is PSITTACUS daily diets. |
