The sharpener is in the head of the holder, which you can pull out as a handheld device to use. In terms of size, the pencil is about 110mm long and can hold 5.6mm lead. Hence, it can't use longer 120mm leads like Cretacolor. However, it is perfect for drawing anywhere, and you can carry it in your pocket or bag without worrying about breaking.
