Almond Clear's Face & Body Clearing Serum, Level 1 is designed to combat acne, folliculitis, aging skin, ingrown hairs, and dark spots all over the body. The main ingredient in the product is mandelic acid, an AHA derived from bitter almonds. This acid dissolves the bonds between the dead skin cells, and these cells flake off both on the surface of the skin and inside the pores. As skin cell turnover increases, clogged debris is dissolved, hyperpigmented skin cells are exfoliated, and the skin cell turnover stimulates the body to produce collagen and elastin. The customer reviews show that the product is effective in treating issues such as folliculitis, clogged pores, perioral dermatitis, eczema, and acne scars, but it can cause dryness and flaking in the initial usage period. One customer recommends using moisturiser, such as CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion, to combat this issue. The serum can be used on the face as well, but a small patch test is recommended. The product does not have any harmful ingredients and is cruelty-free.
