This guitalele is a well-crafted, solid mahogany instrument with a great tone and sustain. It can be played with either nylon or very light metal strings. Some customers have said they had to file the nut lower to make it easier to play, but overall people are impressed with the quality of the instrument given its low price point. The guitalele stays in tune well, with one reviewer even saying the steel strings remained in tune after the instrument sat untouched for six months. It's convenient for travel, and despite its small size, the frets are closer together, which can make it easier to play. One reviewer did comment that it would not stay in tune. There were questions about the neck width, and the manufacturer said it was 1 7/8" at the nut and 2 1/4" when it intersects the body of the instrument. It is strictly acoustic - there is no built-in tuner. The majority of the reviewers are happy with their purchase, and several commented that it's something they enjoy playing and would recommend.
