The FA-18E & FA-18F Super Hornet in Detail & Scale book provides a comprehensive resource on these aircraft, including the EA-18G Growler. The amount of information cleared by the Navy and the manufacturer for publication is impressive, making it a valuable reference for mechanics and pilots. However, the quality of the book itself is disappointing. Printed on low-quality paper with a flawed binding, the book's glossy cover layer started peeling off even before opening it for the first time. The photos and illustrations inside are also of poor quality. It is evident that this book is a "print on demand" product, printed on a cheap office printer, which is not in line with the standards of the original Detail & Scale series. It's a shame that Bert Kinzey, the author, would associate his name with such a low-quality imitation. For model builders, the book does provide excellent detail photographs that can be helpful. It offers good value for the price and is regarded as the best among other similar books in its category. Overall, while the content of the book is informative and comprehensive, the subpar quality of the physical product itself is a major drawback. It is advised to avoid purchasing this book if possible.
