Each of the St. Joseph Picture Books make wonderful gifts for baptisms, First Communion, birthdays, Christmas, or Easter. One of 101 titles in the St. Joseph Picture Book Series, this book by popular author Father Lawrence G. Lovasik, S.V.D. provides children with simple explanations of the life of Mary, Mother of God. Mary, the mother of Jesus, plays a very important role in the New Testament and is an inspiring example for all of us. Chosen by God to bring His Son, Jesus, into the world, Mary shows us the power of saying “yes” to God’s plan, even when it seems challenging or hard to understand. When the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, telling her she would be the mother of Jesus, Mary was surprised but said, “Let it be done to me according to your word.” This “yes” is known as her Fiat. Mary’s trust and obedience to God show us how we can have faith in His plans, even if we don’t see the full picture.Mary was also present during many important events in Jesus’s life. She cared for Him as He grew up, was there at His first miracle at the wedding at Cana, and stood by Him during His crucifixion. This shows us her courage, deep love and loyalty.Mary teaches us to be faithful, patient, and compassionate. She also helps us learn to trust in God’s love. Catholics honor Mary and ask her to pray for us because she is so close to Jesus.Mary’s life reminds us that God’s love is always with us and that we, too, can follow Jesus by being kind, loving, and trusting God’s plans.Specific topics covered in this title include:Mary is BornMary is Offered in the TempleMary with Her MotherMary and Joseph are MarriedThe Angel Speaks to MaryMary Visits ElizabethJesus is Born in a StableMary Offers Jesus in the TempleThe Magi Visit Jesus and MaryThe Holy Family Flees to EgyptThe Holy Family at NazarethMary Finds Jesus in the TempleMary at the Marriage FeastMary Meets JesusMary Sees Jesus Die on the CrossJesus Lies in Mary’s ArmsJesus Appears to His Mother MaryMary Sees Jesus Rise to HeavenThe Holy Spirit Comes Down Upon Mary and the ApostlesMary is Taken to HeavenJesus Crowns Mary Queen of HeavenMary Our Mother
