It will remove dye that has been put into the fabric during the manufacturing process but cannot remove patterns or prints from a fabric nor can it remove indigo color from jeans. It can remove tint caused by dye transfer from one item to another. Customers have used it successfully to remove red tint from whites, remove dye transfer from striped shirts and to restore sun-faded upholstery. One reviewer used it to remove dye transfer from a $70 Tommy Hilfiger shirt, but it also removed some of the original color, leaving it with yellow patches. It is easy to use and usually successful at saving whites that have been mistakenly washed with colors, but it is not always effective on all fabrics.
