- In der anwendungsnahen Forschung ist die Einzelfallanalyse ein ausgezeichnetes Werkzeug für die Untersuchung von Individuen oder sozialen Aggregaten: Die Analyse ihrer Zustände und Verhaltensweisen erlaubt das Entwickeln und Erproben entsprechender Hypothesen, aber auch, besonders mithilfe quantitativer Analysen, die Schaffung von neuer Evidenz. Die wichtigsten Bausteine in der Planung, Durchführung und Interpretation der Untersuchungen, auch für die wirkungsvolle Fallkontrolle und Qualitätssicherung, sind in dem Sammelband von Michael Reicherts und Philippe Genoud (2015) über Einzelfallanalysen beschrieben. Die im vorliegenden Band dargestellte Webapplikation Single-Case Expert (SCE) ist als Werkzeugkasten zu dieser Publikation zu verstehen, speziell zum 7. Kapitel; dort werden eine Reihe von, für die Einzelfallanalyse wichtige, non-parametrische statistische Verfahren vorgestellt. Als neuartiges methodisch-statistisches Hilfsmittel zur Durchführung und Auswertung von Einzelfallanalysen ermöglicht SCE die weitgehend automatisierte und benutzergeführte Durchführung dieser Verfahren. Im vorliegenden Text werden - neben den methodischen Voraussetzungen und der Entwicklung dieses Softwaretools - einerseits die non-parametrischen Verfahren dargestellt, wie sie in SCE implementiert wurden und vom Benutzer verwendet werden können. Anderseits wird im letzten Kapitel anhand von fünf ausführlichen Fallbeispielen aus dem psychosozialen und dem betriebswirtschaftlichen Kontext die konkrete Verwendung von SCE aufgezeigt.
