- The Mushroom Grow Kit (Quick Kit) is the ultimate solution for growing gourmet mushrooms at home with ease. This kit includes two pre-sterilized substrates: a 1-pound bag of organic, hydrated, and sterilized rye berries for creating your spawn, and a 1-pound bag of manure-based mushroom substrate to serve as the bulk substrate. The rye bag, equivalent to 1 quart in volume, features a self-healing injection port and a 5-micron filter patch to ensure optimal gas exchange. The bulk substrate, equal to 1.5 quarts, is crafted from high-quality horse manure and fortified with essential nutrients to support healthy and productive mushroom growth. To use the kit, simply inoculate the rye bag with 4cc of your favorite gourmet mushroom culture and shake to distribute evenly. Allow the rye bag to colonize at room temperature for 5 to 6 weeks. Once fully colonized, break up the mycelium in the rye bag and mix it with the manure substrate bag. Seal the bag and allow it to colonize at room temperature for another 4 to 6 weeks. Mushrooms can be grown directly in the bag or transferred to your preferred fruiting chamber for cultivation. Both substrate bags can be stored for up to 4 months at room temperature or 6 months in refrigeration, making this kit as convenient as it is effective.
