New Yorker (Editor) Publishing & Books Editorial Review
The Complete New Yorker: Eighty Years of the Nation's Greatest Magazine Book & 8 DVD-ROMs is a collection that promises to bring the renowned magazine's entire back catalog to your fingertips. However, customer experiences and reviews suggest that this product falls short of expectations. One common issue encountered by customers is difficulty in installing the program from the DVD. It seems that the program may not install automatically, but users have found success by manually running the WindowsSetup.exe file. Additionally, some customers have found a way to install all the issues on their hard drive to avoid the inconvenience of switching DVDs. Another major complaint is the compatibility of the product with modern computers. Many customers have expressed frustration with the fact that the book and DVD set was published in 2005 and doesn't work well with current operating systems. Some Mac users, despite having the latest software, were unable to open the DVDs and are seeking assistance to make them work. On the positive side, customers who were able to access the content enjoyed the old fiction pieces included in the collection. Overall, The Complete New Yorker: Eighty Years of the Nation's Greatest Magazine Book & 8 DVD-ROMs seems to have disappointed many customers due to installation difficulties, compatibility issues, and limited functionality.
